About The Publisher: Kara Murphy

Hi! I’m Kara Murphy, the publisher of Macaroni KID Chautauqua County and Macaroni KID Erie, Pa.

I’m a mom of two, former news reporter, and National Director of Editorial and Content Strategy for Macaroni KID. I live just across the state line in Erie, but I’m excited to bring Chautauqua County families one easy, reliable place to find local events, activities, seasonal guides, and family-friendly things to do throughout the county.

Before joining Macaroni KID, I worked as a reporter for the Erie Times-News, and my work has also appeared in the New York Times and various magazine publications. I’ve published Macaroni KID Erie since 2017, helping more than 10,000 local families find the best things to do each week.

My goal for Macaroni KID Chautauqua County is simple: make it easier for families from Jamestown to Dunkirk, Lakewood to Fredonia, and everywhere in between to discover what is happening nearby—and make sure the wonderful local businesses, attractions, and organizations serving families get the attention they deserve.

Have an event, local tip, or business you think Chautauqua County families should know about? I’d love to hear from you.
